It takes all kinds of people...

"Don't Place In Eyes" I read on the side of the bottle of toilet bowl cleaner I was using to scrub the commode. "What kind of people put toilet bowl cleaner in their eyes?" I asked myself as I snapped the cap closed...immediately before toilet bowl cleaner squirted in my eyes! As I was leaning over the sink splashing water in my profusely teary eyes, I wished I had read the rest of the message about what to do if you placed toilet bowl cleaner in your eyes... before I had snapped the cap shut and while I could still see! Yes, there are all kinds of people in the world, and some of us actually need the warning labels on the bottles of toilet bowl cleaner.

This has been a really busy week on our farm. All but one of our November born babies has found its way to his or her new home. We have also had several adolescents adopted this week, so we have met all kinds of people who are joining the Cook's Collies family! Young families with children, single parents, retirees; it's been great to meet one and all. I love hearing the stories of what brought us to our common love of collies. For many it was a family member who had a collie, some had previously owned a special collie, but a few are newbies in the collie world.

The Rodock family of California is new to the Cook's Collies family but not new to the collie breed. Having lost a beautiful sable named Tiffany a couple of years ago, they decided it was time for a tricolor girl. They chose Nicole, an 8 month old girl from Rawhide and Huxley's litter born May 10th, and sharing the same birthday with Greg Rodock. They decided to call her "Belle", and we arranged to send Belle to them on Friday the 12th. I was glad to hear that she had arrived safely and was already settling in well that evening. I was even happier when they sent over a picture of Belle and Greg napping together the next day. It looks like a match made in Heaven!

Receiving pictures and updates from our collie families is the highlight of my day, and I have been enjoying every picture, phone call, text message, and Facebook post I have received about each puppy! All kinds of people, from all over the country, sharing one thing in common - our love of collies! God bless each one!
