Are you ready for spring?

Last weekend the flu descended on our family like a dark cloud zapping the strength out of my limbs and leaving me struggling for breath. Just doing the basic chores felt like a monumental accomplishment. Since I was too tired to do much outside - when I wasn't lying around on the couch feeling guilty about doing next to nothing for days - I watched a bunch of our puppy videos from past years. What happy memories!

One group of videos included footage of Bergen and Bruce's 2017 litter when they were only 5 weeks old. The babies were having a good time playing in the grass, and as I watched the video, I decided that I was thoroughly ready for spring! Watching those cute little rascals romping and playing in the green grass reminded me of the things I love most about living on a farm: newborn calves, baby chicks, puppies, baby goats, purple martins raising their young in our nest boxes, hummingbirds drinking from the feeders hanging on the patio, potato plants growing in rows in the garden while squash vines stretch their tendrils through the rows of corn reaching for the sky. This time of year makes me anxious to get out the tiller and stir some garden dirt!

Instead I decided to fiddle with one of the puppy videos and learn how to mix in music. I found that it's not as easy as it looks! I hope you enjoy the link to our little YouTube video of Bergen and Bruce's babies that I posted here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdoCB17mggE I'm still playing with it and hopefully will figure out how to edit it so that it doesn't just suddenly stop! But despite the video's abrupt ending, if you are like me, I think you will find yourself a little bit anxious for warmer months - and, hopefully our springtime will include a few puppy cuddles! (Some of our girls' tummies appear to be growing nicely!)

Have a happy week everyone! (Feel free to share your favorite spring time memories! It just might help the rest of this winter pass more quickly!)
